Invisalign Orthodontics
Hear the word “orthodontics” and visions of shiny, metal braces, elastic bands and retainers will likely dance through your head. Thanks to exciting advances in orthodontic care you can say goodbye to the shine and say hello to the virtually invisible way to straighten teeth.
Invisalign uses custom-made aligners to treat misalignments of the teeth and jaws. Aligners are clear, removable appliances that are used in series to gradually straighten teeth. They look a lot like teeth-whitening trays, but are designed to apply controlled force to move teeth sequentially, and incrementally, throughout the course of treatment. Aligners are made from strong, clear medical grade plastic that provides a comfortable, unnoticeable fit – no more bands or wires to irritate your mouth or affect your speech!
And, with aligners, you can eat whatever you want whenever you want. No more avoiding hard or sticky foods to get straight teeth! You’re free to remove the aligner to enjoy an apple, corn-on-the-cob or a piece of Grandma’s sticky caramel. With no bands or metal in the treatment mix, clean up is a breeze and great oral hygiene is just a brush and floss away. When your teeth are straight, you may whiten them for free! Crowns
Teeth are often restored using silver or composite fillings. However, when too much of a tooth’s structure is missing, a crown or “cap” may be needed. A crown may be needed to:
- Restore a tooth when it is unable to support a large filling
- Attach bridges
- Protect a weak tooth from fracturing or restore fractured teeth
- Cover badly shaped or discolored teeth
- Cover dental implants
